Message Ok so maybe not, but today was our last drag day of the year. A local group rented it out, so we pretty much had free reign. I had a feeling my clutch was starting to go, so we brought the trailer today. After a few easy passes to make sure the car was doing what it was supposed to, I cranked up the boost and hammered away at it....

The first pass I let out in 4th because it started getting squirly and ended up running an 11.7@116mph. This isnt my best time, but I did accomplish my best eve 60ft time of 1.60. This is done on completely stock suspension (minus subframe spacers) everything is as old as the car, and I havent even had it aligned in 3 years. I suspect suspension mods and an aligntment will net me many 1.5's next year. The downside to the best ever 60ft was discovered upon my next pass. THe clutch started slipping HORRIBLY. I had to limp it back to the trailer, and it looks like the Z is done for the year. I'm going to order up a new clutch and flywheel as well as have the tranny rebuilt (4th synchro is grinding)

I should say i was VERY impressed with the abuse the stock flywheel and JWT STREET DUTY!! clutch held up to, I have probably 15 or so 1.6~ 60 foot passes and many 11 second runs on this clutch!

I'll leave you with a picture I got from the local photography company, my car looks like its damn near ready for flight, best pic of my Z so far!

Enjoy
